Artist/s statement

“These Things” presents the work of a group of "press-less" print-makers (Bathurst Street Printmakers). Using different approaches, materials and methods these artists have created an exciting variety of personal and political subjects in print. Applied techniques include relief print, monoprint, reduction print, mixed media print, print illustrated books and 3-D work.
This exhibition is about belonging, connection, identity and things of importance to each of us. It celebrates individuality and cohesion, attachment and independence. It reveals how places and things within those places are significant to each of us. The exhibition showcases and demonstrates artistic individualism as each artist expresses their own perspective and shares the things ("These Things") that matter to them. It gives permission to and encourages those who view the works to do the same.
