Inner West Vietnamese Language School Band

12:00pm after welcome by MC Bonnie Cowan

The Vietnamese Language School Concert Band was established in 2017 to teach Vietnamese language for students from 5 to 15 years of age and encourage student to learn and keep the music and tradition of where they come from. They love to be part of the Marrickville Music Festival and share their songs to all of you. They are going to perform “Top Of The World” and “Hồn Quê”.

THE DEFENESTRATORS (Marrickville High School Rock Band)

Marrickville High Rock Band Programme has been running for 6 years. It is a program open to any students at M.H.S. who want to get involved in performing live music. Giving up their sleep ins and lunch breaks to rehearse under the guidance of local musician Dylan Hartas they have achieved what many just dream of, a cohesive, tight and powerful rock band, with enough energy to light up any stage. As the band features many multi - instrumentalists who regularly swap instruments and vocal duties the audience are always kept guessing and entertained

Christian Brothers' High School, Lewisham

Christian Brothers High School Lewisham Concert Band and Jazz Band is comprised of students from year 5-12 and have performed in different venues such as Sydney Town Hall, ANZAC Day, St Bridges Parish in Marrickville, St Thomas' at Lewisham.

Marrickville Public School Concert Band

Established in 1994, the Marrickville PS Concert Band Program has been vital in providing children in our community access to instrumental music. Throughout its history, this program has been managed by school staff members. The band continues to play a mix of standards, and pop tunes. We are hugely excited to be back at Marrickville Festival entertaining our community.

The Marrickville Pigeons (Wilkins Public School)

The Marrickville Pigeons are students from Wilkins Primary School and formed in early 2022. They have been performing regularly at school/community festivals and local venues ever since. Lydia is the main vocalist and front person, ably supported by Olaf (who also brings cool flute sounds to the mix). The two Eli’s cover bass and guitar, Charles rounds things out on the keys, and Spencer holds the whole thing together on drums. Look out for the Marrickville Pigeons, they may soon land at a venue near you!

All Welcome Community Singing Group

All-Welcome Singing Circle sessions welcome short, simple songs & harmonies are taught by ear to festival goers on the spot. The concept draws on, but is something between, a flash mob and pub choir. Suitable for all ages, singing together promotes connection and is a great boost for well-being - both individually and through the community.

The Palace Dancers and Drummers

Swirling skirts, colourful shawls, Arabic instruments, and finger cymbals. The Palace Dancers and Drummers come together at Amera's Palace to perform a lively and colourful display of world fusion dance. The Palace has been part of Marrickville’s cultural scene for over. This dance style builds on Middle Eastern traditions with influences from around the world including Spain, India, Africa, and Eastern Europe - extravagant costumes and music reflecting the global mix.

MummaSing Inner West

MummaSing Inner West is a friendly community choir for mums, with a diverse repertoire, which includes children's music, indigenous, and multicultural songs, as well as pop hits. We welcome mums with or without kids to our rehearsals, with ensuing chaos, fun and joyful noise! We meet at 10am Thursdays at St James, Croydon during the school term.

Solidarity Choir

35 years strong this year, Solidarity Choir has been based in the inner west throughout. We sing songs in solidarity with those whose voice isn't being heard - songs of justice, freedom and protest.

Midnight Noodles (All Age Music School)

Powered by All Age Music School in Marrickville, this up and coming band is set to become part of the next generation of live music performers. Midnight Noodles are an edgy 5 piece teen group who blend a little bit of rock/pop/funk and indie sounds into their repertoire. Featuring a lead vocalist, drummer, bassist, trombonist and guitarist, this group has been going from strength to strength.

Sydney Shaoxing Opera Troupe

The Sydney Shaoxing Opera Troupe Inc. was established in Ashfield in September, 2003. In the last 20 years, we have been active in publicizing the Chinese culture and endeavouring to intergrate into the mainstream of the Australian multiculturalism. We answer the calls from the local council, and the Inner West Council in particular, during their festivals or carnivals. We also join other other cultural organizations in their recreational activities.
