Audit, Risk and Improvement Committee (ARIC)
The Audit Risk and Improvement Committee (ARIC) is a special committee of Council that acts as an advisory body to Council and has no executive powers, except those expressly provided by Council.
The purpose of the committee is to provide independent assurance and assistance to Inner West Council in the effective discharge of its responsibilities for financial reporting, risk management, internal controls, governance and internal and external audit. The Committee operates in accordance with its Terms of Reference (PDF 420.7KB). Among other functions, the Committee scrutinises Council's internal audit activities, which operate in accordance with the Internal Audit Charter (PDF 450.2KB).
The Committee consists of:
- Three (3) independent members, one (1) of which is appointed as Chair
- Two (2) councillors, Clr Scott and Clr Atkins.
