Fundraiser exhibition at Chrissie Cotter Gallery - ColourWall

Inner West Council’s Chrissie Cotter Gallery is the venue for a fundraising exhibition by staff from the Art Gallery of NSW.

Art Staff for Charity hope to raise over $10,000 for Save the Children, according to spokesperson Emma Smith.

“This is the fifth year we have exhibited together and raised funds for a charity of choice,” Emma said.

“We exhibit a variety of themes and techniques from photography, print, drawing, jewellery, painting and collage.

“As all the artists have a day job at the Art Gallery of NSW we are constantly stimulated by our wonderful working environment,” Emma said.

All the Art Staff for Charity exhibitions have been held at Chrissie Cotter Gallery, with Council donating the commission to each chosen charity every year.

“Council has been extremely generous to our group,” Emma said.

“We hope to communicate the need for on-going generosity and support from communities less fortunate than ours. We hope to raise awareness about the excellent work that the Save the Children do in remote Australia, in detention centres and refugee camps and presently in Syria,” Emma said.

The exhibition, titled ColourWall, is on from Friday 7 October until Sunday 10 October.

Opening is Thursday 6 October at 6pm.
