We see learning as a lifelong journey. We value each child being in the here and now and recognise childhood as a unique and valuable time. We view children as capable and active leaners contributing to the world around them.
Our aim is that each child will feel a strong sense of belonging to our centre community and feel supported in enjoying their childhood as well as developing at their own pace. We recognise that learning happens in a social context. When families, educators, children and other professionals all come together and work as partners we achieve the best outcomes.
Yirran Gumal means “Many forms of Friendship” in the Aboriginal language of this area. Honouring First Nations Peoples and acknowledging that we learn on Gadigal land is woven into our teaching, relationships and daily learning experiences.
We pay respect to the Gadigal people, rich with culture, tradition, and knowledge and aim to provide a safe space that is inclusive for everyone. We are committed as a team to doing what we can towards closing the gap for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and continuing to learn about Indigenous ways of being and learning.
