Pools

50m pool, indoor program pool, and children's splash pool

Monday to Friday: 6am to 8.30pm
Saturday: 6am to 6.30pm
Sunday and public holidays: 7am to 6.30pm

Please note that the program pool is closed to the public between 8am to 12.30pm, Saturday and Sunday, when Swim School is running. A walking lane will be available in the 50m pool during these times.

Train

AKAC is located 1.5km from Sydenham Station and 1.4km from St Peters Station, approximately a 20 minute walk from both stations. Sydenham and St Peters stations are accessible stations with lifts and boarding assistance available.

Bus

Annette Kellerman Aquatic Centre is an easy 2 minute walk from frequent Sydney Buses services that stop on Enmore Road adjacent to Enmore Park. AKAC is a 4 minute walk from Sydney Buses services that stop at Marrickville Metro.

Parking

AKAC is located within Enmore Park and our facility does not have a dedicated car park. Car parking is available in the surrounding streets, however availability may be limited. Untimed parking is available on Llewellyn Street and Victoria Road.

The following parking time limits will apply:

  • Maximum of 2 hour parking from 9am to 5pm Monday to Friday, and from 9am to 12pm Saturday and Sunday on Black Street

Bike

Designated bicycle parking is located just outside the main entrance.

Train

AAC is located 360m from Croydon Station (approximately a 6 minute walk) and 710m from Ashfield Station (approximately a 10 minute). Croydon and Ashfield stations are accessible stations with lifts and boarding assistance available.

Bus

Sydney Buses service bus stops are located on Frederick Street, a 2 minute walk from the centre, as well as on Liverpool Road near Ashfield RSL, approximately a 5 minute walk.

Parking

AAC has two car parks on either side of the facility, on the corner of Elizabeth Street and Frederick Street, as well as on the corner of Elizabeth Street and Bastable Street. Both car parks are accessed via Elizabeth Street. The following time restrictions apply:

  • Monday to Friday: 2 hour parking limit
  • Saturday and Sunday: 4 hour parking limit

Disabled parking is available in both car parks, with 2 spaces in the Frederick Street car park and 5 spaces in the Bastable Street car park.

Priority/walking lane is available in the hydro pool Monday to Sunday from 6am to 8pm. The Priority Lane is a walking only lane; no lap swimming in the Priority Lane.

Please note access to the spa jets in the hydro pool will not be available during the following times:
Monday to Friday: 3.30 to 6.30pm
Saturday: 8am to 12.30pm
Sunday: 8am to 1.30pm

Indoor program pool

Monday to Sunday: 5.30am to 8pm

Please note that programs running in various pools, including our hydrotherapy and indoor program pools, will affect public lap lane availability, please visit our Swim page to check lap lane availability for when you plan to visit.

Mushroom pool and splash pad

The mushroom pool and splash pad open for the summer season from October through to April.

Parking

A shared public car park is located adjacent to Leichhardt Park Aquatic Centre and Leichhardt Oval with untimed parking. Please note as this car park is shared with Leichhardt Oval, parking availability may be limited during events at Leichhardt Oval.  

Disabled parking is located at the entrance of the centre, as well as pick up and drop off spaces.

Bus and Light Rail

Several bus routes operate between Central Station and Leichhardt Park Aquatic Centre, although there are no direct bus stops outside the facility. Bus stops are located at the intersection of Perry Street and Mary Street and are a 10-15 minute walk to the centre.

The Leichhardt North light rail station (L1 Dulwich Hill Line) is a 10-minute walk from LPAC.

Bike

Designated bicycle parking is located just outside the main entrance.

Dawn Fraser Baths is a seasonal facility open from October to Easter each year. Our opening hours vary over the season. 

October - November

Monday to Sunday and public holidays: 7.15am to 6.30pm

Sydney Harbour Water is a natural water environment and is generally in good condition. The harbour water is however subject to variable conditions due to external impacts and weather patterns. Swimmers are encouraged to check the Beach Watch site for the most up-to date readings following rainfall, a red icon will indicate a closure.

Ferry

Take the F3 or F8 ferry lines, or the CCLC service. 

The closest wharves are Balmain Wharf (~ 20 min walk) or Birchgrove Wharf (~ 21 min walk) from the baths. 

Bike

DFB is accessible by bike via local roads and paths in Balmain. From the drop-off point (Fitzroy Avenue Reserve) you can access the baths via a steep road or stairs. You can bring bikes down to water level.

Bus

Take a bus along Darling Street and get off at "Darling St before Birchgrove Rd" (or any nearby stop), then walk approximately 6 minutes to the baths.

Parking

Street parking is limited on Fitzroy Ave. Street parking is available on White Street and Glassop Street with a short walk through Elkington Park to access DFB.

Fanny Durack Aquatic Centre is a seasonal pool open from 1 September to 30 April each year. Opening hours vary based on sunrise and sunset.

Train

FDAC is located 550m (8 minute walk) from Petersham Station and 800m (10 minute walk) from Lewisham Station. Petersham Station is an accessible independent access station with wheelchair ramp boarding assistance available. Please note Lewisham Station is not an accessible station.

Light Rail

FDAC is located 1.1km (about a 11 minute walk) from Taverners Hill light rail stop. Taverners Hill is an accessible independent access stop.

Bus

FDAC is located 600m from frequent bus services that stop on Paramatta Road at Fort Street High School. 

Parking

Car parking is available in the surrounding streets, however availability may be limited. Untimed parking is available on Station Street and West Street. Disabled parking is available at the entrance to Petersham Park on Station street, near the entrance to FDAC. Please note some parking time limits apply on the corner of Station Street and West Street.

The following parking time limits will apply:

  • Maximum of 2 hour parking from 8.30am to 6pm Monday to Friday, within the signs located on Station Street near the corner of West Street.
