Pool Lifeguards are an essential part of our team who ensure that pool users are safe at all times by patrolling designated pool areas in accordance with the Operations Supervisor’s instructions and ensuring pool users follow Aquatic Centre rules and safety requirements.

Lifeguarding is a rewarding job with flexible hours and provides opportunities to learn lifelong skills. Lifeguards interact with a wide variety of people on a daily basis, providing opportunities to build communication and interpersonal skills. You'll also be trained to respond to emergency situations by making quick decisions and staying calm under pressure, skills which are transferrable to any career you might be looking to pursue in the future.

Lifeguarding is a great position to kick start a career in aquatics. Experience in a lifeguard position can help you gain the skills required to become a supervisor, then a duty manager, and eventually even a centre manager. At Inner West Aquatics we support our staff with training and development opportunities to help you achieve whatever your career goals might be.
