Watercraft storage
Inner West Council offers limited dinghy and watercraft storage at six waterside locations across our local government area.
Availability of Bays
Our watercraft storage bays are in high demand. Please refer to your preferred location for current status. Following the annual renewal process and audit, the status of any available bays will be updated. If there are any available bays displayed on our webpage, please email watercraft@innerwest.nsw.gov.au with a photo of your watercraft and all contact details for us to assess whether a licence agreement is suitable for your watercraft.
License Renewals
Existing lease agreement renewal notices and tax invoices are sent out in November each year for the next calendar year.
- You will be contacted annually to pay the required fee.
- Failure to pay your watercraft fee, will result in your watercraft being impounded, and an impounding fee will be applied.
- Watercraft is stored entirely at your risk and Council will not accept any responsibility for any damage caused to the watercraft.
- Council has the right at any time and for any reason to terminate an agreement.
- If you do not remove the watercraft or other equipment if your agreement is terminated, the items will be removed and may be disposed of.
- You must advise Council in writing if you no longer require the use of the watercraft storage area by emailing watercraft@innerwest.nsw.gov.au
- You cannot “on-sell” or transfer the agreement under any circumstances.
- You must give Council immediate notice of any damage, defect or deterioration affecting the watercraft storage area.
- Use of the facility is for private purposes only. Any commercial use of the facility will render the license agreement immediately null and void.
Council grants a temporary 12 month licence (from 1 January to 31 December) to the applicant herein after referred to as the licensee for the use of the allocated storage bay at Council's nominated storage facility on the following terms and conditions:

- The licensee acknowledges the licensee’s property stored in the storage bay is at the licensee’s risk at all times.
- Council may terminate this licence in its absolute discretion for any reason whatsoever, including breaches of these terms and conditions after giving the licensee 7 days' written notice.
In the event this licence is terminated, Council may treat the licensee's property as abandoned and deal with it in any way Council sees fit, at the licensee's expense, if the licensee fails to remove its property within 21 days after notice is given by Council.
Note
- First preference is provided to those who have a mooring. Proof of your mooring must be provided.
- Contacting council requesting a bay does not guarantee that a storage bay at the location will become available or allocated.
- Council will update our webpages as storage bays become available.
If you no longer require your bay and wish to relinquish it, please advise Council in writing with the location, bay number, your details and Council's Booking Number (if known).
No refunds will be offered for bays relinquished throughout the year.
Council charges an annual fee from 1 January to 31 December each calendar year.
Moorings are managed by Transport for NSW.
