Our group fitness classes

Bookings are essential for group fitness classes and open 5 days and 1 hour prior to the class start time. 
Our group fitness timetable changes with the seasons to offer you fresh and varied classes throughout the year. 

Timetables are updated quarterly on the following schedule:

  • Summer (November to February)
  • Autumn (February to May)
  • Winter (May to August)
  • Spring (August to November)

We run over 300 group fitness classes per week at our major centres, with additional classes in summer at our seasonal centres.

Book a class

Bookings are required for group fitness classes. Please note:

  • Bookings are open 5 days and 1 hour prior to the class start time
  • If you cannot make a class, you must cancel at least 60 minutes prior. Regularly failing to cancel classes may result in restrictions being applied.  If you are a visit pass holder, a visit will be deducted. If you are a casual paying customer, you will forfeit the fee in full. You can cancel the class via the customer portal, if you require assistance cancelling your class please call the centre on 02 9392 5400
  • Classes run between 30 to 55 minutes, see timetable for more information
  • Members need to bring a towel when attending any class or the gym
  • It is recommended all members bring their own water bottle and floor mat

Important information

We ask that you please adhere to the below guidelines to ensure classes are safe, flow effectively, and are enjoyable for all participants:

  • Please visit reception on arrival to receive a ticket for entry into your class
  • All Fitness Passport members must present their Fitness Passport card or the casual fee will be charged
  • For aqua classes, we ask that you enter the water no earlier than 5 minutes before the class is due to commence, and
  • For your safety we ask that you line up along the side of the pool and enter the water one at a time
  • Keep conversations to a minimum whilst the class is in progress

We accept Fitness Passport for full use of the gym, group fitness classes, and pool entry at Annette Kellerman Aquatic Centre, Ashfield Aquatic Centre, Leichhardt Park Aquatic Centre, and Dawn Fraser Baths. We accept fitness passport for pool entry only at Fanny Durack Aquatic Centre. Fitness Passport cannot be used for special fitness programs or squad training.

To use our facilities as a Fitness Passport holder, you will need to register with us to have an online account set up. There is no fee associated with this registration, please complete our Pre-Exercise Questionnaire form to register and our team will contact you to confirm your account set up.

When you attend for your class, you will need to check in using the Fitness Passport app. Checking in at a facility with the Fitness Passport app is quick and simple. Just look for the Fitness Passport QR code at the front desk and follow these steps:

  • Open the app
    • TIP: Make sure you’re logged in before you arrive at the facility
  • Start Check-in
    • From the home screen, tap Check-in (the fourth tab at the bottom)
    • The app will open your camera so you can scan the QR code
  • Scan the Gym Access QR code
    • When attending for a group fitness class, including aqua classes, you must use the gym QR code to record your entry
  • Confirm your check-in
    • Select who is checking in (you or your family members)
    • Tap Confirm Check-in
  • Show your confirmation
    • The facility staff will ask to see the confirmation screen on your phone before you enter
  • Once checked in navigate to you customer barcode to scan
    • From the home screen, tap Membership (second tab at the bottom)
    • Tap the arrow next the family members name to show the barcode
    • Scan the barcode at the reception completer
    • Complete for all family members that have checked in
  • Tips for smooth check-ins
    • Make sure you have a good internet connection and lighting
    • Use your phone’s torch if scanning is difficult
    • Scanning usually takes only a few seconds

Please note that failure to record your entry may result in your access to Inner West Aquatic and Recreation facilities being revoked.
