Currently there are free English classes in Newtown and Ashfield.

Free English classes at Ashfield Civic Centre

Learn spoken and written English from experienced TAFE NSW teachers through the Adult Migrant English program (AMEP). Learning English helps you work, make friends and achieve your goals in Australia.

Register your interest here or call 02 7920 8991

Eligibility criteria apply but TAFE and Council will ensure that people who are not eligible for an AMEP class are referred to other opportunities to learn English.

AMEP classes are FREE for eligible migrants and humanitarian entrants. If you care for children under school age you can have free childcare while you learn though AMEP.

If you want to study somewhere other than Ashfield you can find out about other AMEP classes on the TAFE AMEP website. Classes are flexible - you can study full time, part time, face to face or online, weekends, week days, day or evening.

The AMEP is funded by the Department of Home Affairs
