For the first time, Inner West Council is supporting DV Safe Phone, a registered charity dedicated to providing a lifeline for those dealing with domestic violence.
DV Safe Phone collects donated phones, professionally resets and tests them, and equips each device with a new SIM card where possible and a charger. Phones are then distributed through a trusted national network of frontline agencies, including police stations, hospitals, refuges, and safe houses at no cost to the agencies or victim-survivors.
Residents can donate old charging cords and mobile phones of any age or condition by placing them into DV Safe Phone collection bins located at:
- Annandale Community Centre
- Hannaford Community Centre
- Ashfield Service Centre
- Leichhardt Service Centre
- Petersham Service Centre
It’s recommended that all old phones are signed out and reset before they’re donated. All devices are checked to ensure data has been erased. Devices that cannot be reused are responsibly recycled via MobileMuster.
