Art and mind
All welcome at this art class for over 55s. The classes are designed for all skill levels and are led by art therapist Jasmine Steven. Jasmine puts great care and thought into the structure and instruction of the classes. Students are encouraged to tap into their own creativity to experience a sense of joy and empowerment through participation and creative play. Experiment with different art techniques alongside people from different backgrounds.

Women from all backgrounds are invited to drop in, join the group and share and learn a craft, Tuesdays at Leichhardt MarketPlace, Community Room, 122-138 Flood St, Leichhardt. Time: 10.30am-3.30pm. The community room is located on lower ground level near the food court. From the food court, head towards the escalator - the room is located via the walkway next to the Medical Centre that runs parallel to the escalator on the lower ground.
Come and learn a new craft like knitting and crochet or share a creative skill you have with the group. Bring along a project you are working on or make something for the group to donate to charities.
The group has many Italian speakers but everyone is welcome here. Ask for Pina Romeo.
Singing/choirs
Join a friendly group of diverse singers as we learn and sing together. A great variety of songs from many genres. No experience or skill required.

Like to sing? Haven't sung since school? A multicultural group of seniors who enjoy friendship, singing and entertaining seniors who are confined to nursing homes/retirement villages in the Inner West.

Great Day Choir is a joyful and inclusive choir for people living with dementia and their communities. Sessions focus on familiar, easy‑to‑learn songs suggested by choir members, with an emphasis on connection, enjoyment, and singing together. Volunteers are present to provide support, and light refreshments are shared after each session.

Songlarks Choir is an inclusive and welcoming choir for people living with Parkinson’s (and others who simply love to sing). Sessions focus on enjoying singing together in a relaxed, non‑judgemental environment, with time to socialise and connect with others. No singing experience is required — just a willingness to join in.
