Access Local Democracy Group

Advising Council on inclusion, accessibility and implementing the Disability Inclusion Action Plan.

Purpose

The purpose of the Access Local Democracy Group (LDG) is to:

  • Contribute to achieving community outcomes as set out in the Inner West Community Strategic Plan and implementation of Council’s four-year Delivery Program
  • Provide input into development and implementation of Inner West policies, strategic plans and/or programs as related to inclusion and access as requested
  • Serve as a resource for Council in relation to matters which Council resolves to bring before the LDG for input
  • Provide input into the development and implementation of the Disability Inclusion Action Plan.

Policy challenges

Over the term, this group will deliberate on the following policy challenges and report back to Council every six months on the progress.

  • How can Council systematically embed Disability Inclusion Action Plan commitments into policy development, implementation, and evaluation?
  • How can Council maintain and enhance its status as an Employer of Choice for people with disability?
