Yirran Gumal (2020)

The original artwork developed for the Yirran Gumal Early Learning Centre by local resident and Yuwaalaraay designer Lucy Simpson, is an interpretation of the centre’s language name meaning ‘many friendships’. Inspired by local river systems and mapping of country, the artwork speaks of Cooks River people past and present and the ongoing relationship for those living, working and learning in and around the saltwater banks of the river in beautiful Gadigal/Wangal country.
