Architectural Excellence and Design Review Panel

The Architectural Excellence and Design Review Panel (AEDRP) is an independent panel that provides expert advice on urban design and architectural quality and excellence. The AEDRP is made up of three external members who are experts in architecture, landscape architecture, or urban design.

The role of the AEDRP is advisory only and was established to help inform Council’s assessment of certain applications, including:

  • Applications where State Environmental Planning Policy No 65 – Design Quality of Residential Apartment Development is applicable
  • Large boarding houses, major commercial buildings, or significant public domain projects
  • Significant proposals such as master plans, development control plans, urban design strategies, and planning proposals
  • Other matters at the discretion of Council

Terms of Reference

The Terms of Reference guide the panel in terms of its operation and includes information on matters that will be referred to the panel, its members, conduct and disclosure, and meeting procedures.
