The IWC Public Art Map features six outdoor art trails with a range of public artworks for your enjoyment.

Public art makes a valuable contribution to an enlivened and vibrant locality, by complementing and building on the unique qualities of our streetscapes and town centres.

Christina Stead
Christina Stead was an Australian novelist and short-story writer acclaimed for her satirical wit and penetrating psychological characterisations. She spent a large portion of her life unrecognized for her brilliance as a writer living in obscurity in England during the 50s and 60s. It wasn’t until later in her life that she was recognized for her excellence, and was awarded the Patrick White Award in 1974, the same year in which she returned to Australia.
