Mahoney Reserve Legal Graffiti Walls

Council has three dedicated Legal Graffiti Walls in HJ Mahoney Reserve, South Marrickville for the legal practice of aerosol and mural art.

Bookings to paint on the designated Legal Graffiti Walls at HJ Mahoney Reserve are made through Council’s online booking system

Bookings may vary in length depending on demand.

If you are under 18 years of age a parent, guardian or a youth program facilitator can apply on your behalf and must accompany you to the graffiti wall.

Council reserves the right to remove works considered to be offensive, obscene or that violate human rights or anti-discrimination legislation and regulations.

Terms and conditions 

Council supports safe, legal expressions of creativity and understands that aspiring graffiti and street artists need places to practice their craft. Council has three dedicated graffiti walls in HJ Mahoney Reserve, South Marrickville for the legal practice of spray can and mural art.

Art that is offensive, obscene, incites violence or that violate human rights or anti-discrimination legislation and regulations will not be approved.

Bookings

Bookings to paint on the designated walls at HJ Mahoney Reserve are made through Council’s online booking system at the booking link below. 

After your application is approved, you will receive a confirmation letter via email within 7 days.

Approval to paint is only for the specified Legal Graffiti Wall(s) in HJ Mahoney Reserve, for the approved applicant(s) and only for the specified period of time.

Organisations may apply to book Graffiti Walls on behalf of young people and / or for programs facilitated by the Organisation.

Applicants are responsible for preparing the wall prior to painting.

Duration

Bookings may vary in length depending on demand.

Multiple bookings by one individual may be made throughout the year and approvals will be granted depending on availability.

Council strongly advises documenting art work on completion. Art works painted on HJ Mahoney Reserve Legal Graffiti Walls are temporary and will only remain visible until painted over during the next booking.

Council assumes no responsibility for the illegal painting of walls.

Under 18s

You need to be over 18 years of age to make an online booking to paint on HJ Mahoney Reserve Legal Graffiti Walls.

Council reserves the right to remove works considered to be offensive, obscene or that violate human rights or anti-discrimination legislation and regulations.

Cleaning up

If you paint at HJ Mahoney Reserve, you are required to take all rubbish including spray cans and nozzles with you when you leave the site.
