National Tree Day
Connect with nature
On National Tree Day, Inner West Council is inviting the community to connect with nature and help restore unique Australian landscape. Celebrated annually on 30 July, National Tree Day is a call to action for all Australians to put their hands in the earth and give back to their community. Each year, about 300,000 people volunteer their time to engage in environmental activities that educate individuals about the world around them.
The Inner West is home to more native wildlife than you might think, including threatened species like Powerful Owl, Grey-headed Flying-fox, and two species of microbats – the Large Bent-winged Bat and Southern Myotis (also known as the Fishing Bat!).
Inner West residents can get involved in the following National Tree Day and year-round opportunities to connect with nature, provide habitat for native wildlife and create healthier ecosystems for all.
