With exciting prompts and pop culture trivia, this workshop is perfect for writers who want to polish their story and readers who want to try writing fanfiction for the first time. There will be an opportunity to share your work and find new readers in your fandom community. For ages 16+

Join USA Today Bestselling author Kat Masen, novelist Winnie Dunn and writer Tabitha Carvan in conversation about the phenomenon of fanfiction. Panellists will explore the journey from DIY fanfiction to traditional publishing, finding your own community, and the future of fanfiction. For ages 16+

Sink your teeth into sexy stories inspired by your favourite works of fiction. Join us for an evening of risqué readings by comedian Jordan Raskopolous, bestselling author Kat Masen, multitalented performer Natali Caro, and writer Em Size. These star performers will dip their toes into erotic fanfiction from across fandoms and genres. This event is for adults only.

Kat Masen

Kat T. Masen is a USA Today bestselling author. Her passion is writing angsty love triangles involving forbidden men like “Bestie's older brother”. She is also the founder of the Books Ever After store, Books by The Bridge Author Events, and spends way too much time on Tik Tok creating videos for her #1 Amazon bestseller Chasing Love. Kat lives in Sydney with her husband, 4 boys, and a needy pug.

Winnie Dunn

Winnie Dunn is the General Manager of Sweatshop Literacy Movement and the editor of several critically acclaimed anthologies, including Another Australia (Affirm Press, 2022). She is a writer of Tongan descent from Mount Druitt and holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Western Sydney University. Her work has been published in The Guardian, HuffPost Australia, Griffith Review, Meanjin and SBS Voices. In 2022, she was a finalist for Western Sydney University's Breakthrough Alumni Award. Winnie is currently completing her debut novel, Dirt Poor Islanders (Hachette, 2024), which has been assisted by the Australia Council for the Arts.

Tabitha Carvan

Tabitha Carvan is the author of This Is Not A Book About Benedict Cumberbatch (4th Estate), and a science writer for ANU. Her writing on identity, family, pop culture, and science has appeared in The Best Australian Science Writing 2022 (NewSouth), The Guardian, The Sydney Morning Herald, The Saturday Paper, Crikey, Junkee, Overland, and Australian Geographic. She lives in Canberra.

Jordan Raskopolous

Jordan Raskopoulos is a comedian, musician and digital content creator. She is best known as the lead singer of The Axis of Awesome, a world renowned musical comedy group and YouTube Juggernaut. She is the creative director of Press Start Productions. Press Start is currently producing Insert Coin, an ongoing web series about video games. Jordan is also host of This is About, a narrative non-fiction podcast on ABC RN. In 2016 she came out as transgender in a viral video called 'What's Happened to Jordan's Beard'. Since then Jordan has become an inspiration to young LGBTQIA+ people by living her genuine life, openly and publicly and using her platform and profile to promote awareness and understanding to a broad audience through humour.

Em Size

Em Size is a writer and performer living on unceded Gadigal land. They’re currently writing an erotic novel and training to be a physical comedy jock.

Natali Caro

Natali Caro (she/they) is a rising star in Sydney! They are a queer Colombian/ Chilean comedian, actor, drag king, writer and producer working heavily to uplift QTPOC. Quickly becoming one to watch, they were nominated for Best Artist in Fbi Radio's Sydney, Music and Culture Awards, shortlisted for ATYP’S Rebel Wilson Comedy Commission in 2021 and more recently Assistant Director of Hubris and Humiliation at Sydney Theatre Company. They’re the founder and producer behind queer comedy cabaret, @_gagevents, and launched @thanksfor_havingme returning to @melbfringe last October. They have also been hosting King’s & Queens, fBi Radio’s queer culture segment since 2020. Natali’s hit debut solo comedy show, Seeking Representation returned last April for an extremely successful run at Sydney Comedy Festival, with sell out crowds and standing ovations. As seen on SBS The Feed, The Chaser War on 2021, Democracy Zone and in your very own dreams.
