Call Out for Duke of Ed Students: Teen Tech Tutors Program

Are you a student enrolled in the Duke of Ed program?

Get involved in our libraries by joining Teen Tech Tutors, our new intergenerational technology program

Teen Tech Tutors brings together students completing their Duke of Edinburgh award and seniors in an intergenerational technology support program.

Over a one-hour session, you will help older patrons with common device questions and help them solve their digital issues, where possible. Through your technology support, you will empower older internet users to stay informed and connected to their loved ones.

The classes are designed as a series of drop-in sessions that can accommodate up to 10 seniors and 4 tutors at a time.

Classes run weekly during school term at the following locations:

  • Leichhardt Library, Mondays, 4.15pm-5.15pm.
  • Marrickville Library, Thursdays, 4.15pm-5.15pm.

Training

  • Prior to the start of the Teen Tech Tutors program, our tutors will complete training that will ensure excellent community service in a safe space for all.
  • You will be provided an iPad to demonstrate any problem-solving processes.
  • A staff member will be present at all sessions to assist if needed.
