What days is DFB open?
7 days a week from 7.15am to 6.30pm. Please note we are closed on 25 December (Christmas Day).
Are bookings required?
Bookings are not required.
How old can I be to attend on my own?
Children 15 and over can attend without a parent or guardian. Children 14 and under must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
Will the beach entrance always be available?
As a tidal pool the beach entrance is not available during high tide. Please note if you are bringing small children the beach entrance may not be suitable during high tide due to the water depth. Please check the Bureau of Meteorology tide charts to determine the best time for your swim.
What amenities will be available?
All amenities including changerooms, shower area, accessible bathrooms and outdoor showers are currently available.
Will the kiosk be open?
Yes, the kiosk is currently open. Retail items are also available for purchase.
Is the pool heated?
No, the Dawn Fraser Baths is a tidal harbour pool.
Is there disability access?

Where do I park?
Street parking is available, parking restrictions apply.
How can I check if Dawn Fraser Baths will be affected by rainfall and may close temporarily?
Recent rainfall may affect water quality and as such the Baths may be temporarily closed.
Please visit the Harbourwatch daily report. The red icon would indicate a closure.
What areas are available for use?
There are two sections:
- 50m lap swimming
- Beach Entrance
Can I bring water polo balls?
Yes, water polo balls are permitted.
