Birchgrove Park Upgrades

  • Project description: Council is upgrading Birchgrove Park to improve overall safety and accessibility for all users and contribute to ongoing maintenance. The improvements planned include:
    -A new walkway at the south-west corner of the park to improve access to the oval
    -Updating the timber fence around the oval
    -Minor repairs to the heritage stonewall
    -Upgrades to lighting along the foreshore (Deloitte Avenue) and the playground path to improve night visibility. Lights will dim to 20% strength until movement is detected and will switch off 30 minutes after the last public transport service
    -Installation of LED handrail lights to improve visibility on the stairwell from Deloitte Avenue
    -Footpath renewal works including improvements to the gravel path on the north-west edge of the park and reconstruction of the concrete driveway in the south eastern corner of the park - start date mid October 2021

    -Stormwater drainage upgrade completed
