The heritage restoration of Dawn Fraser Baths has won the prestigious President’s Prize at the 28th annual National Trust (NSW) Heritage Awards.

The $8 million heritage restoration of one of Sydney’s most-loved assets, the beautiful and historic Dawn Fraser Baths, included replacing the pavilion including the decking, raising the Baths floor level to mitigate sea level rise and future-proof the facility and other improvements.

The President’s Prize went to TKD Architects for the redevelopment, which was commissioned by Inner West Council.

The 2022 National Trust Heritage Awards celebrate outstanding practice in the field of heritage, awarding excellence in conservation, protection, and interpretation of Aboriginal, built, natural and cultural heritage over the past year.

In March, the project also won a NSW Master Builders Excellence in Construction Award.
