Multicultural grants program now open

Monday, 6 May 2019

Financial support of up to $5,000 annually is available to plan and deliver celebrations of national cultures or national days of cultural significance, under Council’s new funding program.

The 2019 Community-led Celebration Day (Multicultural Communities) Grants are for varied events which may include an official component, music, dancing and entertainment activities, recognition of community or individual achievements and culturally significant refreshments.

Multicultural grants are available for Chinese, Cypriot, Greek, Indian, Italian, Lebanese, Maltese, Nepalese, Portuguese and Vietnamese communities.

Council may provide eligible not-for-profit community organisations with subsidised fees if they would like to hire one of Council’s venues including meeting rooms and Town Halls.

  • Applications should also aim to provide community benefits to residents of the Inner West Council area.
  • Information sessions and one-on-one support sessions are offered by Council to prospective applicants.
  • Applications must be made via Council’s Smarty Grants website.
  • Applications for the program close on Wednesday, 22 May 2019 at 5pm.

Applicants are also encouraged to familiarise themselves with Council’s plans and strategies while further information regarding the grant objectives, eligibility, assessment criteria and funding conditions is available in the multicultural grants guidelines.

Further details can be found here or for more information about the program, contact Ingrid De Meyer ingrid.demeyer@innerwest.nsw.gov.au or call 02 9335 2146.
