Applications now open for 2020 Perfect Match

Thursday, 28 November 2019

Inner West Council’s Perfect Match is back in 2020 and applications are now open.

Last year, 38 inner west property owners and 73 artists applied.

From these, Council commissioned in excess of 20 new street artworks.

From small beginnings, Perfect Match has grown to become Australia’s best-known and most-loved public art and graffiti prevention program.

The Perfect Match approach brings artists, residents, businesses, property owners and community together to collaboratively create fantastic new street artworks in public places.

Property owners are invited to find their Perfect Match by nominating their wall to be transformed by an artist. Artists submit their designs and ideas.

Perfect Match has contributed to the Inner West being identified as Sydney’s street art capital, and was this year the subject of a new book, Perfect Match – Street Art of the Inner West by Melinda Vassalo, which charts “Council’s landmark Perfect Match street art program since its beginning in 2014.”

In 2020, Council aligned Perfect Match with EDGE Inner West - a multifaceted arts program designed to support creative communities across the Inner West Council local government area.

Applications close Friday, 14 February 2020, 5pm. Go to www.innerwest.nsw.gov.au/PerfectMatch
