Celebrate a Carnival of Cultures

Enjoy a day of free, fun activities and entertainment for the whole family at this year’s Carnival of Cultures on Sunday 18 March, 10am-4pm at Ashfield Park.

The event celebrates the many cultures that make up the vibrant inner west community with cultural performances, delicious food and market stalls.

The main, dance and demonstration stages will host Polish Folkloric Ensemble ‘Syrenka’, Pepa Molina Flamenco Dance Academy, Mango Bollywood Dancers, Bella Donna Gorgonzola, YuNiOn Taiko Percussion, The Nassbian Dancers, Popping Nation, Jannawi Dance Clan, Ursula Yovich, Stiff Gins and Bakoomba.

Carnival-goers can feast on fare from China, Japan, Spain, Germany, Brazil, Poland, Italy, Greece, Brazil, India and Africa – flavours from all the continents of the world.

Free workshops will feature jewellery-making from recycled materials, do-it-yourself calligraphy, garden games and many other activities for all ages.

Use of public transport to the Carnival is encouraged. A free, accessible shuttle bus will run regularly from Ashfield Civic Centre to the event, and bicycle parking will also be available.
