Plunge in at Dawn Fraser Baths Open Day Held annually in December, the Dawn Fraser Baths Open Day is a chance for water lovers of all ages to celebrate this heritage harbour pool of the inner west. The Open Day will be held this year on Sunday 11 December from 10am till 3pm and entry is free. Popular with locals and visitors alike, the event is a great chance to have a look at the great community asset that these popular Birchgrove baths remain. Program and Activities on the Open Day include: • Live DJ all day • Visit from the Paddle Pop Lion with free paddle pops handed out • Fundraiser BBQ from local swimming clubs • Swimming races with prizes to be won. The community can soon look forward to an $800,000 upgrade to the Dawn Fraser Pool will works to begin in the winter of 2018 ahead of the following summer swimming season. It will deliver improvements to accessibility and restoration of the 1880s State Heritage listed pool buildings and will also include new toilets and improvements to fire safety as well as an additional $85,000 upgrade for the pontoon.
