LGBTI 55+ Shared Lunch to promote healthy ageing and wellbeing

Inner West Council has partnered with ACON’s LOVE Project to host a free LGBTI 55+ lunch.

The event is an opportunity for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and intersex (LGBTI) people aged 55 and over to explore healthy ageing and wellbeing.

The lunch will be hosted by Aunty Mavis, aka the actor Andrew Benson, who is a tap-dancing, singing, tea-drinking legend made famous by her shows Tea and Timeless Advice, Scones and Songs and Silence of the Lamingtons.

As well as a healthy lunch, attendees can make new friends and see health professionals demonstrate healthy ageing activities.

ACON’s LOVE Project is an initiative aimed at creating better conversations and improved social engagement with older lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and intersex (LGBTI) community members.

By understanding people’s needs and preferences, the Project will facilitate greater social connectivity, improve social inclusion and provide appropriate health information for LGBTI elders.

Inner West Council and ACON’s LOVE Project free LGBTI 55+ Lunch will be held at Petersham Town Hall on Saturday 29 October, 11am – 2pm.

RSVP before 26 October on 9206 2017 or rgluyas@acon.org.au Bookings essential.
