WestConnex settlement issues in Richard Murden Reserve

Tuesday 16 March 2021

Inner West Council in February 2021 identified subsidence issues affecting multi-purpose courts and a pedestrian bridge at Richard Murden Reserve, Haberfield. The subsidence was caused by the land 'settling' following WestConnex tunnel works.

Council met with Transport for NSW and received a commitment for immediate interim repairs that will allow the courts and bridge to be used safely.

The temporary repairs to the courts have been completed in time for the 2021 netball season.

Transport for NSW has also committed to monitoring the site and providing a permanent solution.
