2022 GreenWay Art Prize now open

Entries are now invited for the GreenWay Art Prize, which celebrates the 5.8km urban environmental and sustainable transport corridor in Sydney’s Inner West.

The GreenWay Art Prize is a national award with five prize categories:

• Open Art Prize. $5,000 cash, plus two week solo exhibition

• Local Artist Prize. $1,500

• Small Sculpture Prize. $2,000

• Photography Prize. Adult winner $1,000, 2nd $500, Youth (Under 18) winner $200, 2nd $100

• Derivan People’s Choice Award. Hamper of Derivan Matisse products

This year there is a public program free community events for would be entrants:

Photo Talk by Sara Corlis
Sunday 28 August, 5pm - 7pm

Sara will talk about her passion for visual storytelling through nature and wildlife photography and present some of her PhotoArt and images from her trip to Antarctica, answer questions and open a discussion on preparing entries for the GreenWay Art Prize Photo category

How to make a stand-out art prize entry Q&A
Monday 5 September, 6.30pm - 8.30pm

2021 GreenWay Open Art Prize winner, Roxanne Lillis, 2020 GreenWay Local Artist Prize winner, Jody Graham, and curator and creative producer of the GreenWay Art Prize, Tara Morelos will share practical hints on how to get the most out of your Art Prize experience.

Bird Sketching along the GreenWay
Sunday 18 September 7.30am - 10am

Jane Prior, GreenWay Art Prize finalist, and Inner West Environment Group member on birding, bird etiquette and bird sketching. Discover the joy of birdwatching, slow down and learn to connect with the environment to capture the essence of a bird in a few simple lines.
