Inner West Council is inviting local artists to submit ideas for the exhibition of artworks at the Newtown ArtSeat and Chrissie Cotter Gallery in 2017.

Former Leichhardt Council residents have until the end of this month to renew their residential parking permit for the new 2016-18 period.

An art technique first developed by post-impressionist artists in the late 1880s will feature at the next Chrissie Cotter Gallery exhibition.

Now in its sixth year, the much loved Footprints Ecofestival returns to Whites Creek Valley Park Annandale on Sunday 21 August from 11am to 3pm, with hands-on environmental experiences that include a clothing swap and a pedal-powered cinema.

“We are delighted that the community will be gaining a new open space reserve thanks to the generosity of the late Betty Bell,” Mr Pearson said.

Footprints Ecofestival 2016 promises once again be a great community event packed full of entertainment as well as workshops and hands-on environment themed experiences.

Registrations open Wednesday 10 August for the 2016 Garage Sale Trail, one of Australia’s biggest community events.

The Inner West Council is urging the Sydney Motorway Corporation to make sure that its upcoming public meetings contain genuine community consultation and are attended by key motorway staff, in order to engage directly with residents and businesses affected by Stage 3 of the WestConnex motorway.

Inner West Council’s Marrickville Library and History will work with arts and community organisations to present Sydney Fringe Festival 2016 events.
