Step into the spotlight at the Alex Trevallion Plaza's Open Mic Stage!

Whether you're a solo singer, musician or band, everyone is welcome. We'll provide the instruments and backline, so all you need to bring is your talent and enthusiasm.

Register at the stage from 12.00 pm to secure your performance slot, then get ready to share your skills with the Marrickville Music Festival crowd. Each performer will have a limit of three songs each.

Free to participate. All ages and experience levels welcome.

 Please note that Marrickville Road between Illawarra Road and Victoria Road will be closed from 1.30am to 11.00pm on Sunday 11 October. This closure will affect a number of bus and night service routes in the area.

To facilitate Marrickville Music Festival, a number of roads will be closed between 1.30am and 11.00pm on Sunday 11 October. Traffic detours will be in place throughout the day.

If your vehicle is parked within any of the road closure areas, it may be Towed to the nearest safe location prior to the event.

We encourage festival-goers to walk, cycle or use public transport where possible, as parking in and around the event area will be limited.

No. There is very limited parking available in surrounding streets and road closures will be in place throughout the festival. We strongly encourage attendees to walk, ride a bike, use public transport, or other active transport options where possible. Marrickville is well serviced by trains and buses, making it easy to travel to and from the event.

First Aid will be located on Silver Street from 12pm to 6pm. If you require medical assistance, feel unwell, have lost property, or need support of any kind during the festival, please speak to the First Aid team who will be happy to assist.

Yes! We’ll have a fantastic range of food stalls serving delicious local eats from across the Inner West. There will be plenty of options to suit a variety of tastes and dietary requirements, including vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free options. Be sure to also explore Marrickville’s amazing local cafés, restaurants and bars, many of which will be open throughout the festival.

Yes. Free water refill stations will be located throughout the festival site. We encourage all attendees to bring a reusable water bottle and stay hydrated throughout the day. 💧 Bring your bottle and refill it as needed at any of the water stations around the event.

As the festival takes place along Marrickville Road, natural shade is limited. We’ll be providing as much shade as possible throughout the event site, however we encourage all attendees to come prepared by bringing a hat, wearing sunscreen and staying hydrated throughout the day. Please make use of the free water refill stations located across the festival site. ☀️🧴💧

Yes. A licensed Beer Garden will be located on Garners Avenue, featuring a curated selection of local beers, wines and spirits from some of the Inner West's favourite producers. It's the perfect place to relax, enjoy a drink and soak up the festival atmosphere while listening to live music throughout the day.
