Deceased pet

You must notify Inner West Council within 28 days if your cat or dog has sadly passed away. Council's Companion Animal Officers will then update your pet's microchip to reflect this.

Deceased animal found

If you find a deceased animal on public property Council can arrange to have it collected. Council cannot collect deceased animals from private property.

Report a deceased animal 

Please call Customer Service on 02 9392 5000 if the animal needs to be collected urgently.

If the deceased animal is on a state classified road, report to Transport for NSW by calling 131 700.
