School Holidays: Patchwork Portraiture: Textile Art

Using scrap fabrics and a sewing machine, create a unique textile portrait of yourself or someone special. Participants will arrange and pin fabrics into place before stitching over the top using a quilting technique, where the thread becomes a decorative and essential part of the artwork.

Participants will be introduced to contemporary Australian artists and influential textile artists from around the world.

Basic sewing experience required. Suitable for ages 13-18.

Led by Amelia Skelton, an emerging, multidisciplinary artist.
