Genevieve McCrea: Between the Now and Not Yet

Artist statement

My interest in landscape is grounded in the observation that self similarity in nature is visible everywhere. Is that a big head I see, or a plateau? Yearnings of the human spirit to find meaning in this created reality is a search for truth and beauty.

Like all artists, my work is grounded in my own life experience. I have Huntington’s Disease, a condition that affects the brain. When I am at work, painting or drawing, my brain seems to ignore the challenge of the condition, and this seems to have slowed its progression.
