Dark Side of the Beer Festival

From rich stouts and porters to dark lagers and doppelbocks, the Inner West Ale Trail is being transformed into a winter beer wonderland. Perfect for both dedicated beer lovers and those just getting into craft beer.

Four breweries – Mixtape, Sauce, Kicks and Bracket – will be offering Bierstacheln, the traditional German art of “beer poking”. A red-hot poker is plunged into the dark beer, caramelising the sugars to create a delicious marshmallow-like head and a unique flavour experience.

Across the four days, you’ll also find surprise beer collabs, tap takeovers, brewery tours, live music and DJs, plus the roaming Shanty Club performing their rousing sea shanties and harmonies. Join the Ale Trail Fireside Choir for a communal singalong, or warm up with country line dancing classes, Christmas in July celebrations with the Adult Glee Club, firepits and food specials.
