The Urban Beekeepers of the Inner West Inc is a not-for-profit club which promotes urban beekeeping and provides education and assistance to inner west beekeepers. We encourage beekeeping for plant pollination and the mental and physical wellbeing that it brings to beekeepers.

Seaglass artworks from Sydney Harbour 

"The unique seaglass that I use in my artworks have been naturally tumbled and frosted by the sea over many decades. I handpick my finds by snorkelling and beachcombing around the many Sydney Harbour beaches and coves. There is a little bit of Sydney Harbour history in every photo I take and every artwork I make.

I beachcomb and snorkel to collect broken glass that has been discarded into Sydney Harbour over the last few decades and beyond. There is a lot of seaglass in our harbour from broken bottles, glassware and even tv screens and car windscreens I retrieve it to reuse it and make artworks with the variety of colours and textures that I find." - artist Maureen Myer

Koshari is an iconic vegan Egyptian vegan street food dish. An unusual combination, Koshari mixes lentils, pasta, and rice into a single dish topped with chickpeas, crispy onion rings and a fragrant tomato salsa. 

Koshari Korner started when Walid migrated to Australia and realised that Egyptian food, and particularly the iconic Koshari dish missing from the street food scene in Sydney. A marine engineer by trade, he went on to engineer the dish for Sydney’s tastebuds with his late grandmother’s recipe in mind.

Egyptians from all walks of life can usually be found gathered at Koshari carts on every corner of Egypt’s bustling streets digging into the hearty meal. Over the past three years, Sydney siders have warmed up to the hearty dish at Koshari Korner’s pop up stalls across various events and markets in Sydney and the Central Coast.
