Worship Queer Collective celebrated 3 years of their Queer Asian Excellence movement with Worship B’day: Day & Night Festival.
Worship B'day included workshops, music, performances, food and a community fashion show - a sold out event with 258 tickets registered. Worship B'day included contributions of over 25 artists, 50-70% of which were local Inner West residents with 100% identifying as culturally diverse/ BIPoC.
Featuring some of Sydney’s most influential and up and coming Queer Asian/BIPOC artists and trailblazers, the event was a safe space for Queers, Asians, BIPOC, friends and allies.

The biggest benefit of participating in Cultural Connections was the program allowed us to offer free workshops and free entry to the community. It provided the community access to a high quality, innovative arts and cultural program and ups killing development workshops which would have otherwise cost $30-100 (based on similar events in Sydney).
This is even more important now during the cost of living crisis in Sydney where young LGBTQI+, gender diverse, BIPOC folks are greatly impacted.
In addition, the program provided LGBTQI+, Asian and/or BIPOC artists a paid opportunity to showcase their art and performance at the event.
