Our new home is almost ready!
We are delighted to announce that we are almost ready to unveil the new Marrickville Library and Pavilion.
The purpose built, state of the art library will open its doors for the first time on Saturday 31 August at 10am and everyone is invited. Mayor Darcy Byrne will officially open the library and we will celebrate with music, games, roving performers and kids’ activities.
Changes to services
While we move there will be some disruption to services at the current Marrickville Town Hall Library.
Monday, 29 July – Sunday, 11 August
Marrickville Town Hall Library will be closed temporarily while we move our books to the new location. The after hours returns chute will continue to operate.
Monday 12 August – Thursday, 29 August
Marrickville Town Hall Library will reopen. There will be no books on display. All other services are available as normal. If you want to browse our book collection you can do so online or visit one of our other branches.
Thursday, 29 August
Marrickville Town Hall Library closes permanently at 7.30pm.
Saturday, 31 August, 10am
The new Marrickville Library & Pavilion opens.
