Celebrating Lunar New Year

Performers in bright cultural dress

February 10 kicks off three weeks of Lunar New Year celebrations in the Inner West, with a smorgasbord of events to mark the Year of the Dragon.

Learn how to make Vietnamese rice paper rollsexplore the art of tai chi, enjoy a Queer Lunar New Year dance party, and attend artist talks and workshops. Young people can enjoy lion dancing for kids, Chinese bilingual storytime, a dragon drawing workshop for teens, and more.

On Friday 16 February, join us for the launch of a stunning video projection work on the side of Ashfield Town Hall. The Lunar New Year Lights will run from 16 to 22 February.

On 2 March, you are invited to close out the celebrations at a massive community event in Ashfield, including performers, lion dancing and more.
