Celebrate International Compost Awareness Week

Almost 40% of all Inner West residents compost at home. It's an easy way to take climate action.

Celebrate International Compost Awareness Week by registering for our free event, Composting 101 with Community Gardens on Saturday 7 May.

Visit up to three Inner West community gardens and hear about their composting experience and other sustainability practices. Learn about: 

  • composting and worm farming at home and in the community
  • processing food scraps from cafes and markets
  • composting toilets
  • edible gardening.

There's also prizes to be won. The more gardens you visit on the day, the greater your chances of winning.

If you can't join us for the event, here are some options to get composting:
