This edition we focus on Open Inner West Festival, a celebration of cultural diversity and the contribution from a range of communities over 10 days across the Inner West. For the full program details visit the Open Inner West webpage
We talk to Jack (pictured above) about his involvement with the Festival and as contemporary dancer fusing culture into his practice. You can catch Jack at the Open Inner West Festival at Asyik for Kids and Innov8tion
My current work titled "Popping Outreach" is focused on intertwining two major influences in my life: The Dance style of Popping and Traditional Indonesian Dance. Since working more closely with Suara Indonesia Dance I have been able to make a deeper connection with my Indonesian heritage on my father's side. I love all movement forms and am excited to be putting this show together with my students and giving them an insight into different cultures and movement in dance. Read more about Jack Wardana here
