Kate Baldwin has been participating in Spark Youth Theatre's (SYT) 6 month professional development program aimed at giving young artists a leg up in the industry facilitated by Inner West Council and supported by the Australian Council for the Arts.

Survival Guide for Emerging Artists aims to give young people the tips and tricks on how to stay connected, relevant and sane amidst COVID and beyond. Workshops focus on building practise, embedding strong mental health/wellbeing approaches, as well as breaking down the business of being an artist. More about this great initiative and the theatre here

Kate is a lighting design professional as well as a stage and screen actor. "As a Woman of Colour, I am passionate about new Australian and CALD work - I am committed to making sure that all actors are lit properly, regardless of skin colour. There is not currently enough discussion in our industry about how to light non-white cast members and I am devoted to changing that". Read the full interview with Kate here
