Jasmine Sarin at Camperdown Memorial Rest Park 2020

Jasmine is a proud Kamilaroi and Jerrinja woman of NSW, an emerging Aboriginal artist and graphic designer, and founder of JS Koori Designs (2012) which fuses together Aboriginal art and urban life in metropolitan NSW.

Jasmine's current work in progress Gurugal, Yagu, Barrabugu (Past, Present, Future) forms one of the five Gadigal Wangal wayfinding artworks funded from the Stronger Communities Programme in 2016. The public art series celebrates Aboriginal culture and heritage in the Inner West. Hear more about this talented artist

Also this week, read about social designer Tasman Munro who is collaborating on the project My Plate, Your Plate with Council and the Community Refugee Welcome Centre. The project links local residents and people from refugee or asylum seeker backgrounds through community arts, cooking and storytelling. Tasman is building an installation artwork / cart that is based on participant experiences and input. The cart will feature audio stories of participants and samples of recipes shared by the group or speciality ingredients. More about Tasman and the project here

Exciting news. Expressions of interest for Council’s Whites Creek Cottage residency will open shortly. Check here for more details. The residency fuses arts and the environment, so if that’s your thing and suits your practice please submit an application.
