Jasmine is a proud Kamilaroi and Jerrinja woman of NSW, an emerging Aboriginal artist and graphic designer, and founder of JS Koori Designs (2012) which fuses together Aboriginal art and urban life in metropolitan NSW.
Jasmine's current work in progress Gurugal, Yagu, Barrabugu (Past, Present, Future) forms one of the five Gadigal Wangal wayfinding artworks funded from the Stronger Communities Programme in 2016. Also this week, read about social designer Tasman Munro who is collaborating on the project My Plate, Your Plate with Council and the Community Refugee Welcome Centre. The project links local residents and people from refugee or asylum seeker backgrounds through community arts, cooking and storytelling. Tasman is building an installation artwork / cart that is based on participant experiences and input. The cart will feature audio stories of participants and samples of recipes shared by the group or speciality ingredients. More about Tasman and the project here
