Shaping a More Connected and Sustainable Inner West

About the Transport Local Democracy Group

The purpose of the Transport Local Democracy Group (LDG) is to:

  • Contribute to achieving community outcomes as set out in the Inner West Community Strategic Plan and implementation of Council’s four-year Delivery Program
  • Provide input into development and implementation of Inner West policies, strategic plans and/or programs as related to multiculturalism as requested.
  • Serve as a resource for Council in relation to matters which Council resolves to bring before the LDG for input.
  • Provide input into the Inner West Parking Strategy
  • Provide input into the development and implementation of the Integrated Transport Strategy and Action Plan
  • Provide input and development in the Public Transport Position Statement.

Over the term, the group will deliberate on the following policy challenges and report back to Council every six months on the progress.

  • How can we better connect to public transport to further facilitate sustainable travel and reduce road congestion and parking reliance?
  • What strategies can we implement to reduce the demand for private vehicle parking in the Inner West?
