LGBTQ+ Local Democracy Group

Purpose

The purpose of the LGBTQ+ Local Democracy Group (LDG) is to:

• Contribute to achieving community outcomes as set out in the Inner West Community Strategic Plan and implementation of Council’s four-year Delivery Program
• Provide input into the development and implementation of Inner West policies, strategic plans and/or programs as related to LGBTQ+ issues as requested.
• Serve as a resource for Council in relation to matters which Council resolves to bring before the LDG for input.

Policy challenges

Over the term, the group will deliberate on the following policy challenges and report back to Council every six months on the progress.

• How can we foster opportunities for allyship, visibility and pride within the Inner West?
• How can we increase the visibility of the Pride Centre as a community venue?
