Rainbow Library Collections
The Inner West Library service has developed significant collections of LGBTQ+ items for our community, including fiction, non-fiction, DVD's and graphic novels. The collection is aimed at being inclusive with relevant adult non-fiction topics such as:
- raising gay children
- being Christian and gay
- coming out
- transgender teenagers
- history of gay and lesbian activism in Australia and the world
- HIV
- bullying
- gay and lesbian marriage guides
- gay and lesbian parenting guides

Australian Charter of Health Care Rights
The Australian Charter of Healthcare Rights applies to everyone receiving health care in Australia. The Charter outlines the rights of patients and what they can expect when accessing health care services. Health services are expected to provide care that is free from discrimination and responsive to the diverse needs, identities and experiences.
By upholding the Australian Charter of Healthcare Rights, healthcare providers help ensure that LGBTIQA+ individuals feel respected, included and supported when accessing care. Understanding the Charter empowers health consumers to know their rights and how to provide feedback or make a complaint if they believe their rights have not been respected.

ACON online information and services
ACON provides inclusive health information, support services and community programs for LGBTQ+ people in NSW. It focuses on reducing HIV transmission, supporting people living with HIV, and improving the health and wellbeing of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, intersex and other diverse communities, with specialised services for young people, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, culturally diverse communities, older LGBTQ+ people, and people who use drugs.

Rainbow Cultures Multicultural Support Directory
This online directory has been compiled by community and Advance Diversity Services to connect culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) LGBTQIA+ people with inclusive groups, services and organisations across New South Wales and Australia. It includes multicultural and multilingual resources that support diverse communities.

Say It Out Loud - LGBTQA+ domestic and family violence
Say It Out Loud provides information and guidance relating to sexual, family and intimate partner violence in the Australian LGBTQA+ community. It provides information on healthy relationships, support for people experiencing or using violence, resources for friends, family and professionals, and a national service finder to help connect people with appropriate support services.

Understanding sex, health, and relationships among bi+ people in Australia
The Kirby Institute's Bi+ Sexual Health and HIV (BiSHH) Study is the first national survey specifically focused on the sex, health and relationship experiences of bi+ people in Australia. Drawing on responses from more than 2,000 participants, the report provides valuable insights to help improve health services, policies and support for bi+ communities.

The Missing Voice - Intersex Human Rights report
People with innate variations of sex characteristics (intersex people) are born with natural variations in their chromosomes, hormones, reproductive organs or anatomy that differ from typical expectations of male or female bodies.
This landmark report by Equality Australia discusses medical interventions performed on intersex children who are too young to provide informed consent and says that everyone should be able to make their own choices about what happens to their body. Learn more

Writing Themselves In 4 National Report - young LGBTQA+ people
Writing Themselves In 4 is the largest ever national survey of the health and wellbeing of lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans, queer and asexual identifying (LGBTQA+) young people aged 14-21. It was conducted by the Australian Research Centre in Sex, Health and Society (ARCSHS) at La Trobe University, supported by Rainbow Health Victoria.

Supporting LGBTQ+ young people with disability
This resource from Australian Institute of Family Studies is aimed at practitioners, service providers and other professionals who work with young people with disability and/or LGBTQ+ young people. LGBTQ+ young people with disability may hold several intersecting identities and social positions. These individuals are often discriminated against or marginalised due to these identities.
