This form is for members of the public to report suspected fraud, corruption, or deliberate misconduct involving Inner West Council, its staff, contractors or elected officials.

We encourage reports of suspected fraud, corruption, or serious misconduct at Inner West Council.

This means situations where you believe someone has knowingly done the wrong thing – for example, misusing their position for personal or third-party benefit, breaking the law, gaining an improper advantage, or deliberately wasting public money.

This form is not for general complaints, service issues, or delays regarding Council services, events or projects. To make a complaint, please use this form instead.

Please provide as much information as possible. For example: specify what happened, where and when this took place, the name/s of the alleged involved parties (if available), how you become aware of it, were there any witnesses? Is it still happening?

Council is committed to maintaining confidentiality in accordance with the Public Interest Disclosure Act 2022 while the Public Interest Disclosure (PID) is being investigated.

What happens next

If you've provided contact information, Council will acknowledge receiving your disclosure and let you know:

  • Outcomes of the initial review, what action can be taken, if an investigation will take place and reasons for decisions made.

  • Results of the investigation(s), including information, whether Council found serious wrongdoing took place, details of corrective action(s) and steps taken to prevent any future occurrence.
