Family Day Care

Inner West Family Day Care is a local government, not-for-profit family day care service, operating since 1975. Our qualified educators open the doors to their home to provide a flexible, regulated learning environment that is a positive alternative to a traditional childcare centre.

Family Day Care provides children with opportunities to learn and grow through play and intentional teaching, guided by the Early Years Learning Framework. Delivered in small family group settings, the learning programs support each child's individual needs and interests. Educators are backed by the professional team at the coordination unit in Leichhardt, located in the heart of the Inner West. The team offers ongoing guidance, monitoring and support to ensure educators meet the requirements of the National Quality Framework while strengthening quality, safety and inclusive practice across the service.

Educators and staff acknowledge the importance of family values and culture, and focus on developing positive, respectful and nurturing partnerships with families. We help children develop a sense of belonging by creating an environment where they can build connections with peers, staff, community and the natural world around them.
