Marrickville metro, the site purchased by John Vicars in 1893, where the Vicars Woollen Mill once stood. Producing cloth from Australian wool and managed government contracts, supplying blankets and uniforms for railway workers and the army, navy, and air force in both world wars. During this time employing many women and girls as young as 14, the Mill closed in the 70s with the buildings being demolished.
Much of the content of the historical sources aligns with the Stage 5 History syllabus theme of the modern world and Australia.
